Power balls are a wonderful energy reach treat and great for days out or an afternoon "pick me up" at work. I really like the taste of chocolate orange and recently discovered "Sweet freedom choc shot" in orange spice flavour. You can always add Stevia or
Honey for just chocolate.
120g pitted dates or 5 madjool dates
125g of ground almonds or half ground and half whole almonds for a more nutty texture.
2 tablespoons organic cocoa powder
1 tablespoon coconut butter
60ml Sweet freedom choc shot (orange spice); Stevia or Honey.
Rice flour, desiccated coconut or Chia seeds for rolling.
Place all the ingredients in a food processor or nutri-bullet and use the pulse setting to blend the ingredients. You may need to open the lid of the processor and use a spoon to scrape the mixture from sticking to the sides and blend again to create an even texture . Dust your hands with rice flour and scoop a tablespoon size if mixture into them and roll into a ball. You can either finish the ball by rolling in coconut or Chia seeds or leave it as it is. Repeat for all the mixture and place the balls in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of hours. Keep refrigerated for up to a week.
Suitable for children but they do contain nuts.
